The tour takes you to Sigiriya, the ultimate romantic fortress of ancient kings as well as in the scenic ride to Trincomalee via Kandy through breathtaking mountain passes.

Tour will take you to Busy beach towns of Negambo to Sigiriya Fortress City– Dambulla Temple– Kandy UNESCO world Heritage– Wasgamuwa National Park– Tincomalee – Pasikudha Beach and back to Negambo/Colombo.

Our team will welcome you in style at the International airport and drive you to a beautiful beach resort in Negambo.

Use the rest of the day to relax from the plane journey and get adjusted to the tropical climate. In the evening our company representative will come to you for a casual chat about the program ahead. He will present you different options and the complementary offers especially selected to make your trip the perfect holiday that you will never forget.

Day 2: Negambo Beach – Sigiriya Fortress City Click here to readmore

After checkout we will continue our journey with a visit of Sigiriya, the 8th Wonder of the Ancient World, an important UNESCO World Heritage site and testament to the sophistication of ancient construction. Be ready to be blown away by this architectural masterpiece with fountains that still work after 1500 years. Give yourself time to fully grasp the beauty of the ancient frescos of half-naked royal women on the rock face, the fortifications around the rock and the grand city built in the 5th century BC. Enjoy the breathtaking aerial view over jungles, rural villages and giant lakes and mountains after climbing up more than 1000 steps carved into the rock face.

After your visit, you can experience authentic rural life with a special lunch in the Hiriwadunna village. Walk around the village and its lake, watching birds, wildlife and bullock carts transporting goods to the market.

After a relaxing breakfast we will continue exploration with a stop at the famous Dambulla cave temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site.

Climb up to the Golden Cave Temple, towering 160m over the surrounding plains. Enjoy the beautiful frescoes, incredible panoramic views up until Sigiriya and huge Buddha statues.  Under an impressive overhanging rock you find five big caves, which host a beautiful temple complex dating back to the first century BC. Inside the caves, the ceilings are painted with intricate patterns of religious images following the contours of the rock.

After a relaxing breakfast we will continue our journey to Kandy, with a stop at a world famous spice garden.  Ceylon then Sri Lanka was known as is the most important center of spiced in the world throughout the last 3000 years. You may explore and get introduced to different uses and different types of spices here.

Should you prefer to take some of the spices with you, you can purchase top of the range spices as well.

After arriving in Kandy and checking into the hotel, you may choose to visit the world famous Temple of the Tooth. Walk around the ancient royal complex that came to symbolize the statehood as Sri Lanka’s capital moved to Kandy from Anuradhapura due to centuries of invasions. You may witness the evening ceremonies and make a visit to the museum holding centuries of Buddhist heritage, followed by a visit to the remnants of the old royal palace and queen’s private quarters. A private gem museum and a gem lapidary is another destination you can visit to see firsthand how the world famous Ceylon gems are cut and polished.

In the evening you also have the opportunity to enjoy a Kandy cultural dance festival. Kandyan dancing world famous for its amazing moves and colourful dress codes is surely an interesting experience for a visitor.

Day 5/ Day 6: Wasgamuwa National Wild Life Park Click here to readmore

After breakfast you may visit the world famous Temple of the tooth to witness the morning ceremony known as Thewawa. Performed every day at a pre-determined times since the passing of the Buddha is a fascinating insight in to the royal traditions of pre-colonial times.

You may leave Kandy at leisure to Wasgamuwa National wild life park in Polonnaruwa. This is one of the most amazing sceneries in Sri Lanka where you can see the how the central highlands and its mountains come out of the plains.

Second day of your stay in Wasgamuwa you may take the full day safari leaving the hotel as early as possible.

Home to the largest population of wildlife in Sri Lanka, and is one of the least touristic destinations making it’s the ideal place for off the beaten track nature lovers. Wasgamuwa name comes from the Sinhala term Walas Gamuwa, which means Bear woods. Apart from Sri Lankan bears, you may also witness large herds of Wild Asian Elephants as well. 143 bird species that is home to Wasgamuwa, make it’s an ideal place for bird watching as well.

Day 7/ Day 8 /Day 9: Pasikudah Beach - Trincomalee City Click here to readmore

After breakfast, we will drive to the Eastern coast of Sri Lanka, to the beach of Passikudah. Use your leisure time to head out to the coastal towns of Pasikudah or Kalkudah, boasting one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the world.

You may choose to visit Trincomalee as well. In Trincomalee, you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach in the evening, savouring fresh seafood and delicious fruit juices with the breeze of the sea. May be you can even walk to the top of the natural harbour of Trincomalee and let yourself be blown away by the magnificent beauty of the sunset in Trincomalee.

Make time to visit the Koneswaram temple and enjoy the scenery of what historically was one of the most important temples in the Buddhist world later a Hindu temple. Enjoy the colours of the Hindu architecture and decorations as well as the thrilling view of the sea from the edge of the rock face. Feel free to walk under a giant colorful cart that carries magnificent statues of different gods.

Feel free to walk on the road leading to the mountain top and you will find whatever left of the ancient Buddhist temple that once occupied the area. It is common to walk alongside wild deer roaming freely on your way back. A ruined Dutch fortress provides a mystic postcard view around you. Then retire to your beach hotel for a short break, before visiting one of the best attractions in Trincomalee, Pigeon Island. Run around the island and explore every bit of this beautiful small place in the middle of the sea of blue water and white wave bubbles.
