You will land at the Katunayake Airport situated next to a beautiful lagoon and spend the night in Negombo. Use the rest of the day to relax and get adjusted to the tropical climate. In the evening our company representative will come to you for a complementary tea to discuss the program ahead. He will present you different options and the complementary offers especially selected to make your trip the perfect holiday that you will never forget.

Day 2: Negombo Beach / Kithulgala Click here to readmore

After a good night sleep and a relaxing breakfast you will be driven to Kithulgala. This is the best place to enjoy white water rafting in Sri Lanka. Get your Go-Pro ready for an unbelievable ride on a roaring river. You will be assisted by certified experts in the field and be provided all the necessary gear for your safety and comfort. Listen to your white water rafting instructor and follow the safety instructions. Then paddle hard to enjoy the beat of the river and its roaring water currents.

Day 3/ Day 4: Kithulgala / Beli Lena – Sri Pada Mountain (Adam’s Peak) Click here to readmore

After breakfast enjoy a walk through the hotel’s own tea plantation and learn the art of tea plucking like a local.

Then, if you want, you can hike to Belilena together with a local guide (3 hours). But be aware that the most exciting climb will follow during the next night, so if you prefer, you can simply use the day to rest a bit more.

Belilena is a large cave, located 8 km (5.0 mi) from the town of Kitulgala. Evidence of prehistoric human presence as early as 32,000 years ago was recorded at this site. The skeletal remains of ten individuals were discovered by Paul E. P. Deraniyagala, who attributed them to the Balangoda Man (Homo sapiens balangodensis). The Balangoda Man is assumed to have lived as early as 32,000 years ago and occupied high altitude territories of up to 2,000 ft (609.6 m) above sea level.

At midnight we will leave the hotel to climb Adam’s Peak, a beautiful steep mountain and an important Buddhist landmark. At 2 am we will start climbing the 5500 stairs up to the peak. At 6 am we will reach the top of Adam’s Peak, on time to watch the stunning sun rise over the country – an unforgettable experience. After a good break on the top, we will climb back down to Nallathanniya. At noon you will be back at the hotel to get a good rest.

After breakfast you will take one of the most scenic train rides of Asia to the small jungle city of Ella, giving you views on impressive mountains covered in mist, waterfalls, tea plantations and thick, lush greenery. Our experts may accompany you during this beautiful ride on the century old tracks through mountains and tunnels and you will be picked up at Ella station before checking into one of the most amazing resorts in the country. After your breakfast you will be driven to the famous surfing beach of Arugam Bay on the eastern coast.

You will pass through serene mountain ranges and stop at the stunning Ravana waterfall. You will be checking in to your beach hotel before going on a safari in Kumana and Yala East National Parks.

Spend an unforgettable day spotting powerful leopards, lazy bears and hundreds of other animals in the exciting Yala National Park during our wildlife safari tour in a 4WD jeep. Create everlasting memories by taking hundreds of photos of rare animals, thick green jungle and colorful birds. Kumana and Yala East is one of the best places in South Asia for bird watching. Therefore, please bring your Binoculars and powerful cameras to capture them.

The fishing village of Arugam Bay is a very popular surfing destination, known as the best surfing beach in Sri Lanka and one of the 10 best surfing spot in the world. It features many international surfing competitions. The region is also very popular among bird watchers. When you have enough of surfing and relaxing on the beach, you can visit the many nearby ancient Buddhist and Hindu temples in the Pothuwil area.

For the next two days, you can either take surfing lessons (3 hours per day) or explore the nearby ancient Buddhist and Hindu temples in the Pothuwil area. Arugam Bay is the ideal spot to just chill on the beach and enjoy one of the least unpolluted and touristic beaches in Asia. It is perhaps the best-hidden gem in the surfing world.

We will also guide you to the ancient ruins of a sea temple (Muhudu Maha Viharaya’) and go with you to the Sunday market for a traditional shopping experience.

Day 11: Rathnapura- Sinharajaya UNESCO world Heritage forest Click here to readmore

We will leave the coast to Sinharaja, a UNESCO World Heritage primary rain forest, which ranks on the very top globally for the density of its bio-diversity.

On the way you will be passing through the world famous capital of Ceylon gems, Rathnapura. If you want, we will take you on a short tour through one of the many gem museums where you can see for real the famous Ceylon blue sapphires, corundums, padparadschas and other gems. You have the option to visit a real gem mine where millennium old techniques are still in use. If you want to go shopping, we can provide you with a list of government certified places to shop for special gems.

In the afternoon you will check in to your hotel in the Sinharajaya periphery and have the rest of the day for relaxation.

Today you will be accompanied by a naturalist to go deep into the rain forest, starting as early as.6 am. You will slowly explore the hidden paths, flora, fauna, and countless species, which are only found in this habitat until 4 in the afternoon. If you are a bird watcher, make sure you are well packed with your binoculars and tele lenses. There are plenty of things to be photographed.

Sinharajaya is one of the most amazing places to visit in Sri Lanka, as it hosts 337 woody plant species that include 192 endemic species, 19 fish species, 33 amphibians, 71 reptile species, 147 bird species, and 44 mammal species, 65 species of butterflies and over 140 families of fauna.

Before the arrival of the British and with them of the colonial tea plantations, the entire hill country was covered in forests like Sinharajaya.
