In Kandy spend an afternoon to relax in the hotel, walk around the city center or visit ancient temples scattered around the city. Take lots of pictures and memories home from the amazing Kandy cultural dance festival.

In Minneriya National wild life park you may come face to face with the largest free-rain wild elephant herd in the world. Enjoy the interesting Nuwara Eliya with fresh and cool atmosphere of the mountain city with cottage type bungalows and a colonial air, which gives the city its nickname “Little England”.

You will land at the Katunayake Airport situated next to a beautiful lagoon and will be welcomed by our representative at the airport. Upon arrival you will be driven directly to your hotel Negombo. Use the rest of the day to rest and get adjusted to the tropical climate. In the you may discuss the tour program with your travel expert. He will present you different options and the complementary offers especially selected to make your trip the perfect holiday that you will never forget. Overnight stay and dinner in Negombo.

Day 2: Negombo Beach - Anuradhapuraya Click here to readmore

After a relaxing breakfast we will drive to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the centre of the Theravada Buddhist civilization. It is one of the most important metropolises and the greatest monastic city of the ancient world. Discover the birthplace of the Sinhala-Buddhist civilization and the most monumental architectural site of the country. On your exploration tour of the major sites in and around Anuradhapura, you will visit Sri Maha Bodi, the oldest historically documented tree in the world, stroll around the royal parks, climb up the rocks of Mihintalya and see the greater Mahamevnawa park complex with its magnificent building.

After enjoying a breathtaking sunset over the giant lakes of Anuradhapura you may visit the Ruwanweli Maha Seya Stupa at night before returning to your hotel.

Day 3: Anuradhapura - Sigiriya – Minneriya Wildlife Safari Click here to readmore

After checkout we will continue our journey with a visit of Sigiriya, the 8th Wonder of the Ancient World, an important UNESCO World Heritage site and testament to the sophistication of ancient construction. Be ready to be blown away by this architectural masterpiece with fountains that still work after 1500 years. Give yourself time to fully grasp the beauty of the ancient frescos of half-naked royal women on the rock face, the fortifications around the rock and the grand city built in the 5th century BC. Enjoy the breathtaking aerial view over jungles, rural villages and giant lakes and mountains after climbing up more than 1000 steps carved into the rock face.

After your visit, you can experience authentic rural life with a special lunch in the Hiriwadunna village. Walk around the village and its lake, watching birds, wildlife and bullock carts transporting goods to the market.

In the afternoon we will drive to Polonnaruwa for an evening safari in Minneriya National Park. Minneriya National Park is home to approximately hundred elephants as well as sloth bears, herds of deer, peacocks, boars and many kinds of birds circling the beautiful Minneriya tank.

Day 4: Sigiriya- Dambulla – Matale – Kandy Click here to readmore

After a relaxing breakfast we will continue our journey to Kandy, with a stop at the famous Dambulla cave temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Climb up to the Golden Cave Temple, towering 160m over the surrounding plains. Enjoy the beautiful frescoes, incredible panoramic views up until Sigiriya and huge Buddha statues.  Under an impressive overhanging rock you find five big caves, which host a beautiful temple complex dating back to the first century BC. Inside the caves, the ceilings are painted with intricate patterns of religious images following the contours of the rock.

After Dambulla you may make your second short stop en route to Kandy at a famous spice garden in Mathale.

After arriving in Kandy and checking into the hotel, you can visit the world famous Temple of the Tooth. Walk around the ancient royal complex that came to symbolize the statehood as Sri Lanka’s capital moved to Kandy from Anuradhapura due to centuries of invasions. You may witness the evening ceremonies and make a visit to the museum holding centuries of Buddhist heritage, followed by a visit to the remnants of the old royal palace and queen’s private quarters.

After breakfast you may visit a classic Ceylon tea factory at leisure, where you will learn all about the process of making delicious tea. Then we will continue to the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. You can watch how they bathe in the river and play with each other. Feeding bananas to baby elephants is a great photo opportunity.

We will return to Kandy in the afternoon to relax in the hotel, walk around the city center or visit ancient temples close to Kandy. In the evening you also have the opportunity to enjoy a Kandy cultural dance festival.

After breakfast we will drive to Nuwara Eliya, with a stop at the Mackwood’s tea factory, producers of the world’s best tea and suppliers of the British royal family. Then take a stroll through the fresh and cool atmosphere of the mountain city with cottage type bungalows and a colonial air, which gives the city its nickname “Little England”.

In the afternoon you can pack a picnic and visit Haggala Botanical Garden with its mysterious ferns, colourful orchids and great green lawns or simply enjoy the pompous High Tea in the Grand Hotel of Nuwara Eliya. For your dinner we recommend our favorite restaurant on the island, the Grand Indian. We can help you to get a reservation.
